Solar heating systems have already been installed in the centre at Sisimiut. Research will be conducted into the installation and production of solar panels as well as the development of new types of panels particularly suitable to Arctic conditions. As the need for heating exists all year round in the Arctic area, the potential for solar energy is huge.
