Arctic Environmental Engineering

Designing environmental technology solutions in the Arctic.

Arctic Environmental Engineering is a research team at Center of Arctic technology at Department of Civil Engineering, Technical University of Denmark. We deliver research and teaching at university level on environmental engineering with focus on the Arctic. Our goal is to create a drive towards the development of engineering solutions developed to suit the local context.

Arctic Environmental Engineering

  • We develop knowledge on Arctic solutions for handling of solid waste, wastewater and contaminated sites
  • We focus our research and innovation to meet the demands in the Arctic context
  • We incorporate local resources in solutions designed for the specific location
  • We aim to mitigate environmental impacts from dwellings, industry and raw minerals extraction
  • We pay regard to the local context including infrastructure, climate, geography, geology, population
  • We base our research on full sustainability considerations (people, planet, profit)
